How to record a donation and set up a fundraising campaign
Every gift tied to a fund, and a campaign to track what it adds up to.
- Add a fund. What the money is for - general operating, a spay/neuter program, a building project.
- Start a campaign against that fund. Give it a goal and a date range if it is time-boxed, like a giving-day drive.
- Record a donation. Amount, the fund or campaign it counts toward, and the donor. If it is in someone’s honor or memory, add a soft credit for that person too.
Worth knowing: A campaign’s progress adds up from the donations recorded against it automatically - nobody totals a spreadsheet by hand.
