How to generate and sign an adoption contract
Generate it, review it together, sign on the same screen.
- Open the adoption’s contract screen. From the adoption record, choose Generate Contract. This fills in your current template with this adoption’s own details.
- Review it with the adopter. The document appears right on the screen - hand the device to the adopter to read it.
- Sign it. Draw a signature with a finger or mouse, or use Type Instead to sign with a typed name in a script font - both are treated as a real signature.
- It is done. The signed copy replaces the preview immediately, with the signer’s name and the date shown on screen.
Worth knowing: The signed PDF is stored with the signer’s name, the time, their IP address and a checksum, so what was signed is provable later if it is ever questioned.
